Unicorn Thrift Shop volunteers celebrated a year of dedication and hard work at their annual luncheon on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. The highlight of the event was the presentation of a check in the amount of $30,000 that will help Uplift Family Services’ children and their families.
Ellen Orcutt, long-time staff member from Uplift Family Services’ Prevention and Early Intervention Program, gave an inspiring speech about her experience working in three different programs, and the wonderful clients she serves.
Unicorn board members were acknowledged for their many hours of service. Last year’s Presidents were: Andi Jackson, Jean Hembrooke, Shyamala Venkateswaran, Anita Baum, Mary Anne Salmon, and Marie Delizonna. Mary Anne Salmon will remain as president, and her board will include: Cathy Blecher, Shyamala Venkateswaran, Liz Knepler, Rosemarie Daysog, Linda Chase, and Mimi Shellman.
