Two Pacific Clinics employees to receive awards for their support of clients during pandemic
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 29, 2022) — Pacific Clinics will honor Clark Gregg, an award-winning actor, director, screenwriter and mental health advocate, with the Champion of Mental Health Award at Uplifting Communities: The 2022 Pacific Clinics Annual Celebration, which will be held October 15, 2022, at the Millennium Biltmore in downtown Los Angeles. Pacific Clinics will also honor two employees who went above and beyond in support of clients and fellow employees during the pandemic:
- Senior Director of Training Beth Jenks, Ph.D., who led the development of a suicide prevention program and launched the Care Team to offer trauma support services to employees,will receive the Leadership Award.
- Manager of Administrative Services Alma Gomez, who worked to ensure families in Pacific Clinics’ Hollygrove programs had food and household essentials, will receive the Norma Jean Award.
Clark Gregg is best known for his role as Agent Coulson in Marvel movies, including “The Avengers,” “Captain Marvel” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” A Pacific Clinics volunteer, his mental health advocacy efforts have placed him on a national stage to help reduce stigma.
“I am honored to receive this recognition from Pacific Clinics, who shares my commitment to shining light on the importance of mental health,” says Gregg. “I hope this event helps raise funds to ensure that even more people have access to quality, affordable treatment and care.”
ABC7 Eyewitness News Anchors Ellen Leyva and David Ono will host this year’s event, and Ike Barinholtz, a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director will present an award to one of Pacific Clinics’ employees.
Celebrating the historic merger of Pacific Clinics and Uplift Family Services, two of California’s leading nonprofit community-based behavioral health care providers, the event will bring together the best of both agencies’ past annual events for an evening complete with a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, dinner and awards recognition.
