Support Services offer various programs to address social determinants of health, including housing and employment coaching and placement, among other critically needed services.
Alejandro Lucas is regional executive director of the Los Angeles Region. With over 20 years of experience, he has held various roles in the nonprofit mental health industry, including Amanecer Community Counseling Service, where he created the first-ever online school-based client referral system in Los Angeles Unified School District and secured funding for the nation’s first unaccompanied minor mental health program.
Prior, he was an Emergency Response Social Worker with the Department of Children and Family Services. Lucas is a member of the Association of Community Human Service Agencies (ACHSA) Human Resources Alliance, the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, and has guest lectured at California State University, Los Angeles. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Lucas has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a master’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
The recent wildfires have deeply tested our resilience as the devastating fires in Southern California continue to impact countless lives. Tragically, 40 of our employees and clients have lost their homes, and many more have been evacuated as the emergency unfolds. Our teams continue to assist clients and families during this time.
