Pacific Clinics supporters recently came together for An Evening For Our Kids, featuring Chef Nick Difu, which raised $109,000 and counting for the agency’s Neurodevelopmental Services and Professional Parent programs. The event, which took place at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos, California, had 130 guests who were treated to a wine and appetizer reception, gourmet dinner and dessert, a silent auction and tables, each spotlighting an important funding need.
The funds raised from this year’s event will support the creation of an additional professional parent home on the Los Gatos campus. This home will be a short-term refuge and place of healing for a child or teen in foster care with higher behavioral health needs, as well as their certified professional parent, who might otherwise not have the space to care for a high-risk individual.
Event attendees also had the opportunity to underwrite a new sensory gym and playground equipment to help children in our Neurodevelopmental Services program, which supports neurodiverse individuals diagnosed with autism, ADHD, OCD, sensory processing and behavior difficulties, language and social communication challenges, learning disabilities, trauma, and other cognitive, motor and developmental impairments.
“Pacific Clinics is thrilled to have such dedicated and heartfelt advocates in Nick Difu and the Swenson Foundation. Our long partnership with them has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in critical funding for our Bay Area programs for youth in crisis,” said Darren DeMonsi, senior director of development for the Bay Area Region. “This event sold out quickly because attendees were passionate about two things: supporting our mission and Nick’s cooking.”
A special thanks to Board Member Lisa Swenson and her husband Case who hosted the event, along with renowned local chef and longtime supporter Nick Difu. Pacific Clinics is also grateful to Caryl Pozos and Doris Beccia on the event committee, the former and current Board of Directors, Community Leadership Board Members, volunteer auxiliary members, and community supporters who attended and made this an evening to remember.
