Thanks to the clinical intern training team’s hard work and dedication, Pacific Clinics received the 2024 Outstanding Agency of The Year award from Azusa Pacific University’s Department of Social Work. This student-nominated award recognizes the exceptional supervision and training students receive during their internships. Director of Social Work Interns Dianne Golden accepted the honor on behalf of the agency during an in-person ceremony.

As director of the undergraduate and graduate social work intern training programs, Dianne works with local and non-local schools to recruit and train hundreds of interns. Through a structured and rigorous program, students can work with populations including birth-to-five, children, youth and family, transitional-age youth and adults. Additionally, graduate interns can begin supervising a few short years out of school with increasing responsibilities and once licensed, can move into other leadership roles within the agency.

Pacific Clinics, known in the field as an established training organization, has provided internships for more than 40 years attracting students nationwide. The agency serves more than 26,000 Californians across the state with opportunities to work in a variety of programs. Excelling in training and developing tomorrow’s community health care leaders, programs offer interns real-world experience in prevention and early intervention, evidence-based practices, culturally responsive services, health care navigation, and integrated substance use prevention and treatment services.  “Receiving the Agency of the Year—Department of Social Work award not only serves as a moment of pride for our team,” said Dianne, “but also validates what we’ve known all along … we have an amazing training program.”

The social work interns represent the largest cohort year after year, so it’s an honor to have the team highlighted and the program recognized. Receiving this and other awards acknowledges the agency and, through programs, continued efforts to raise the bar and sets a benchmark for attracting and training the best and brightest talent.
