The Los Altos Town Crier recently featured Pacific Clinics’ School-Based Intervention Teams (SBIT) program. The article highlights Pacific Clinics’ expansion into northern Santa Clara County following the closure of a Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) location.
Lacey Castellese, regional executive director of SBIT, explained how the program supports schools by addressing students’ mental and behavioral health needs: “Our service could be anywhere where we’re pushing into a classroom and supporting the social, emotional learning curriculum or working with one individual student to help them get through their day,” and added, “we also provide counseling and coaching for caregivers and families.”
Currently serving more than 30 school districts in the Bay Area, the SBIT program is in the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District and Sunnyvale School District and looks to expand to more in the area.
