Agreement will ensure ongoing high-quality support for children and youth and expand a broad range of assistance to families and adults
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (June 28, 2024) – Pacific Clinics, California’s leading provider of community-based mental health and substance use services, and Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) today announced an agreement between the two organizations that will expand high-quality support services for children, youth, families and adults in northern Santa Clara County.
Under the agreement, Pacific Clinics—which has served the region and other parts of California for 150 years— will begin providing behavioral health services at CHAC’s long-time offices at 590 West El Camino Real in Mountain View. This agreement enables both the continuation of the high-quality, affordable mental health care CHAC has provided for more than 50 years and the addition of Pacific Clinics’ social services, substance use treatment and wellness programs for children, youth, adults and families.
“We are very pleased to be able to continue providing and add additional mental health and family supportive services to communities in North County,” said Don Taylor, regional executive director of the Bay Area of Pacific Clinics.
“This partnership will strengthen Pacific Clinics, helping us provide even better support and working toward our vision of a world in which all people realize health and well-being. We look forward to building on CHAC’s history of excellent services and commitment to its communities,” added Kathy McCarthy, CEO/President of Pacific Clinics.
Pacific Clinics has offered behavioral and mental health care services, housing, foster care and social services, early childhood, and continuing adult education for more than 150 years. It serves more than 34,000 individuals and families each year, from young children to older adults.
To ensure that the youth and families being served by CHAC will continue to receive the assistance they need, Pacific Clinics and CHAC have been working with First 5 Santa Clara County and the school districts where CHAC provides services. Among the services available are those provided by Pacific Clinics’ award-winning School-Based Intervention Teams (SBIT), which offers equitable and evidence-based practices for all students and school administrators and other school-based services. These include behavior consultation, wellness center programs, special education services, functional behavioral assessments, addiction prevention and social-emotional learning.
Pacific Clinics will also expand its services in Santa Clara County, offering additional family resources, housing and social support for people of all ages.
“In finding a partner that could continue to meet the needs of the communities CHAC has proudly served for five decades, our top priority was to work with a sustainable organization that shared our client-focused values – and we found that in Pacific Clinics,” said Anne Ehresman, interim executive director of CHAC. “We both focus on the strengths of the individuals we serve, understand the importance that family and other close supports play in a person’s well-being, and are committed to helping everyone we serve thrive as they reach their greatest potential. This partnership will ensure our community continues to receive the best, most comprehensive and innovative services.”
