Last month, Pacific Clinics presented and exhibited at the 2024 NatCon convention, the largest mental health and substance use conference. It was hosted by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, an organization comprising more than 3,400 mental and behavioral health organizations and agencies.
Director of Data Analytics and Innovation Kristopher Stevens, PhD, and CEO Jorge Petit, MD, of Quality Healthcare Solutions, LLC delivered a presentation titled “Unraveling Complexity: Applying Machine Learning to Identify and Support Youth at Risk for Co-occurring Disorders.” The presentation showcased how Pacific Clinics utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to pinpoint substance use risk among youth aged 12-24, enabling the customization of preventive interventions.
“This is the future of our industry. Artificial intelligence unlocks actionable insights, guiding tailored support for individuals in their behavioral health journeys, ensuring effective, equitable and personalized care for all,” said Stevens.
Addiction Psychiatrist Grace Juarez, MD, also conducted a poster presentation titled “Logistics and Lessons Learned from Agencywide Naloxone Training and Distribution Initiative in a Nonprofit Community Behavioral Health Organization.” During her presentation, she addressed Pacific Clinics’ agencywide naloxone training and distribution initiative, lessons learned to overcome substance use stigma and fear of legal exposure, as well as strategies to enhance and maintain employee and client interest and engagement.
Juarez said, “Ensuring that all employees, clients and loved ones are equipped with the knowledge and tools to administer naloxone can significantly reduce opioid overdose deaths. This initiative has proved successful for our agency and demonstrates our commitment to saving lives and empowering our community.”
